Moms, baked sweet potatoes are so easy to make, and make the best first food to puree for your baby. They are inexpensive, rich in vitamins and minerals (such as vitamins A and C, beta-carotene, potassium, copper, and manganese). They are a great source of fiber, they taste good, and Fall is right around the corner so you’ll find plenty on the grocery shelves.
Your baby is starting to really watch your every move. Maybe they’re grabbing your spoon while you are eating, babbling at you at the dinner table, or slamming their hands down in frustration. I think your baby is giving you a cue that they might be ready to start having fun at the table. Before you begin your first food journey, talk with your pediatrician on what are the best first foods. You just need to be aware of some signs that your baby is allergic. There is a rule of thumb, start with one type of food, whether it’s a sweet potato or banana, and feed that one food for three days straight. If you do not notice any allergic reactions, your baby is fine.
Sweet potatoes are great first foods because they are so easy to make and your baby will most likely like them. Who wants to be in the kitchen slaving away over baby food? Well, Baby Bullet makes it quick and easy. When it’s almost lunch time, and you’re in-between nursing, the sweet potato makes for a great dish for you. Not only are you gonna get to eat, but puree the other half of the sweet potato and you get to enjoy a mommy and baby meal together!
